Well we finally got the phone call today that we have been waiting for about a month now. We have a date set for Trevor's surgery. September 11th at 7:30am My sister-in-law said that is a good luck day. The day my nephew was born three years ago.
So will keep you all updated. Hopefully we can take our computer or use a computer at Children's to update how things are going on the blog for you all. So all I ask now is to PRAY PRAY PRAY for that day and for the surgeons and everything that goes with having surgery. And for the days to follow the surgery. Also pray for Joel and I. I was alright with him having heart surgery but now it is real and is going to happen. I think it has finally hit me. Scared and nervous for my little boy. But I know that God will take good care of everything and Trevor will be back to himself (plus more ENERGY) after this is done. KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYER THIS NEXT COULPE OF MONTHS. Thanks!!

We'll keep your little guy in our prayers.
I just read in Lennie's email about Trevor's surgery date and wanted to let you know that our family will be praying especially for Trevor but for you and Joel also. Heart surgery has progressed so much in the past few years that I am sure Trevor will be in good hands.
What surgery did you decide on? If I knew, I must have forgotten.
It IS a good luck day!! (Though isn't it ironic that you'll be walking the same sidewalk we did exactly 3 years ago? :) )
He is going to have the surgery were they will go under his left arm pit, through his ribs and cut out the arrowed aorta. The other option called ballooning. Where they would have taken a catheter though his main artery and follow it though his body to his heart a try to stretch the narrowed aorta. He would have had to have that done as he grows and his heart gets bigger and in the long run we might have had to have the surgery anyway. The surgery is a one time deal and will only have to have check-ups once a year, then will every other year.
When I talked to the lady yesterday she suggested that we find some button up shirts so he won't have to lift his arms to put his shirt on. I called my friend Sally this morning. Her son loves those shirts and she said that she would look thought his shirts and get us some.
Annie, I'll look for some while we're in Denver, and if we find any, we'll pick some up for you. Does he have zip-up sweatshirts? You never know when it will snow- I was stuck down in Denver with Brecken and all I had was the flip flops I wore when I went into labor because it was 90 degrees that day. When I was in Denver, it snowed. Figures. :) But I can look for some sweatshirts, too.
And if it makes any difference, that's the surgery Josh and I would have picked, too. We didn't want to say until you made your choice, but that's the one we would have done. :)
Oh, yeah, and what size? 3T?
Kara- Yes 3T and if you could look for zip up sweatshirt/jacket too. He only has one and it is a 2t that Dad and Stacy got him for Christmas. Maybe even a 4t jacket so it is loose on his chest area. We can always roll the sleeves if you are to long.
I think it is a good choice. We really didn't want to have to put Trevor though the ballooning process. If we could just do something once and be done then that is the way to go. Other then check up once a year. Thanks Kara
We'll look for some button up jammies too- he'll be sitting in his hospital bed a lot!! :)
