State lady

Every so often I have to get the daycare inspected. She usually just comes by and sometimes she will call and and let me know when she it coming.

She showed up at the house last week. It was about 5:00pm and my kids that I was watching had just left so I had no kids at the house. She checked on the spacing of the new railing that we put up, she measured every one of the spacings. They have to be 3 1/2 inches and they all were exert for the first one on the top of the stairs. She didn't like that I didn't have the baby gate on the top of the stairs either. I told her that he had just got the railing done the night before and didn't have the time. While she was here I changed Trevor's diaper on the floor in the living room. She didn't like that because I have to be right next to the bathroom and he needs to be on a changing pad. I kind of got mad at that because he is my own kid and I didn't have any babysitting kids at the house at the time.

She came in July right after we got done with the swing set and she said that the barrier around the swing set isn't big enough and space at the end of the slide has to be twice the height of the slide. Our slide is 4 feet tall were it is attached to the swing set so she said that the spacing had to be 8 feet from the end of the slide to the railroad ties. What a Pain in the butt. Joel said no wonder no one wants to be a daycare provider they are so picky. So and the gravel that we put down is only 5 inches deep and she said that in needs to be 6 inches deep. If it wasn't for the state refunding me for the food that I use at the daycare I think I would give up my license.

I guess Joel was talking to one of my babysitting kids mom at Church yesterday. Sally came today and said "You do whatever you would like with our kids." Sally couldn't believe it when I told her about the state lady getting mad at me for changing Trevor on the floor in the living room with no changing pad under him. And also having no kids here. I think I should do what ever I want to do with my own kids at my own house when I don't have babysitting kids here.
