Easter Traditions

Easter is my favorite holiday. I remember when I was a little girl. My mom would make all four of us new Easter dresses and on Easter morning we would all get our pictures taken in front of the big pine tree. Easter morning was always fun. My mom would make up a little scavenger hint. Usually our baskets were hide somewhere were we liked to hang. Like out side in the tree house or out by the sheep. That is one thing I miss doing every year. Trying to find my Easter basket. After we all went to church. We would go put on our grungy clothes (as my mom called our old clothes) we would go to my Grandma and Grandpas for Easter lunch and then outside for a game of baseball or to fly kites.

We still enjoy a game of baseball or fly kites. We know have an Easter egg hint. Mostly for the grand kids. We now eat Easter lunch at Aunt Holly's and Uncle Russ's. This Easter I will be starting with my moms tradition and having my kids have to go hint for there Easter baskets. I try to get my little family to stop for a couple of minute Easter morning to get our picture taken too. Carrying on the Easter traditions on to my kids.

Here are the Easter eggs that we decorated Friday night.

Man, you all do yours so early!! Growing up (and still!) we hardly EVER did them until the day before Easter. I guess that's our "tradition"- decorating eggs the day before Easter! One year when my cousin Ian was probably 3, he was in a total BLUE stage. He would only wear blue clothes, blue shoes, the whole nine yards. And we had THREE DOZEN blue Easter eggs that he dyed that day!!! I'll never forget that, and it was probably 12 years ago now!

We were going to do Easter eggs this weekend but Friday I have a Doctor appointment and then Joel and I are helping my Uncle and Aunt brand cafes. Saturday Joel is helping Ty setup the Easter service at EWC and I need to go to Wal-mart for Easter stuff and food. So we thought we might be a little busy to try to get the eggs done. So we did them early. And Karlee wouldn't stop asking to color Easter eggs.

Yay for doctor's appointments! Do you get to see the baby?!

Kara-I probably will but I have to have note from Dr.Campbell and then I have to go to the hospital and schedule the ultrasound. I hope they have time to do it on Friday since Joel has the day off and will have the kids and I have the day off too and have the time to do it.

That sucks that you have to have a note and then schedule one- at my clinic, they give an ultrasound at your first appt., and then at 20 or so weeks, and also whenever the doctor feels like it because they are the ones that do it. :) And all you have to do is walk across the hallway- it's really nice!

The only reason for the note is just to let the ultrasound people know that the doctor asked for one. They do all ultrasounds in the hospital. They don't even have a ultrasound equipment in the clinic. It sure would be nice if they did so I didn't have to go to the hospital to schedule one and hope that they have time to do it on Friday. Small town hospitals.
