Elk hunting, Brecken and the flu

We left Sunday morning for our yearly elk hunting trip to Saratoga Wy. We got to Greg and Maria's about 3:30 Sunday afternoon. Right away Joel and Greg went out hunting. Greg still had a antelope tag to fill. He got a nice antelope that night. Monday morning Joel and Greg went out hunting. They stay in a family cabin until Wednesday. They both came in to town to get cleaned up and a good nights sleep. Joel went out Thursday morning by himself (Greg needed to go to work for a little bit). They didn't go out Thursday night but then they went back out Friday morning.

The kids and I stayed in town and hung out with Maria and her kids. She has four kids. Chelsie in a Senior, Amber is a sixth grader, Geoffrey is four and Madison is just one. Karlee, Geoffrey, Trevor and Madison played well together. Madison and Trevor kept us mommies very very busy all week. Very busy little kids. Tuesday we were walking down town to get Geoffrey from preschool and ran into Josh (Joel's brother lives in Saratoga also). He said that their babysitters was not watching kids that day because her son was sick and Josh had to take the day off. He said that he tryed to call me to see if I could watch Brecken but couldn't get a hold of me. The babysitters son was still sick on Wednesday and Thursdat so I watched Brecken on those days too. He was such a good boy. Kara and Josh said that he would cry and be crabby all day but both the days I watched him he only cried once when I ran the vacuum cleaner on Wednesday. I think it was harder on mom and dad then it was on Brecken. Josh and Kara thank you for letting me spoil and snuggle with Brecken this week. We had a great time. I just wish that we lived in Saratoga so I could watch him more.

Joel took his time getting his elk this year. We were going to come home yesterday but Joel hadn't gotten his elk yet. So, we stayed only more night so Joel and Greg could go out one more time to try to get one. About nine o'clock last night Madison (Maria's little girl) got the flu. And about 4 this morning Trevor started throwing up. It was an early morning and a long day.
Joel and Greg came home around noonish with a nice 5x5 bull elk in the back in the truck. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Even if Joel hadn't gotten anything it was nice to get away a visit family.

The kids both did good on the ride home. I thought that Trevor would get sick again but he didnlt and they both slept most of the way. We stopped in Cheyenne for a little supper. Joel got his elk all hung up in the garage. And both of the kids are sleeping. Joel is too.

Thanks Greg and Maria for opening your house to us and Greg thanks for taking Joel out hunting this week. Maria thanks for the great food. You are like a sister to me and I cherish our relationship. Wish we lived in Saratoga so we could have coffee and cinnamon rolls every morning.
Once Greg and Maria email me the picture that Greg took of Joel and his elk I will post it.
Glad to be home but already miss all of our family in Saratoga.
